Steamboat Springs Area Schools
The Steamboat Springs School District operates 4 schools in Steamboat Springs. These include Strawberry Park Elementary, Soda Creek Elementary, Steamboat Springs Middle School, and Steamboat Springs High School.
In addition to these public schools, Mountain Village Montessori Charter School is a tuition free public charter school for half-day kindergarten through 6th grade also offering a coveted preschool program.
Private schooling in Steamboat is offered by the Steamboat Mountain School which was founded in 1957 by traveler, outdoorsman, adventurer, horseman, cowboy, and entrepreneur Lowell Whiteman, Steamboat Mountain School bears his Renaissance-man imprint today. Also, Emerald Mountain School is Steamboat's independent kindergarten through 8th grade school. For over 23 years, Emerald has been educating and nurturing confident, creative, thoughtful students through their inspiring academic program. In addition to the basics, an Emerald Mountain School education includes music through strings, outdoor education, drama, hands-on science, Spanish, and many opportunities for parent participation.
The upper Elk River area north of Steamboat Springs is served by the North Routt County Charter School in Clark. Other Routt County public schools are located in Hayden, Oak Creek, and Yampa. |
