Kim Folkestad is a native Coloradoan born in Ft. Collins and raised in Loveland, Colorado.

The past 16 years, Kim has resided in Steamboat Springs. She is married to Mark Folkestad, a local general contractor and owner of Amaron- Folkestad General Contractors. Kim and Mark have a grown daughter and son who are definitely their biggest passion. Kim also enjoys skate skiing, snowshoeing, scuba diving, dancing, tennis, and strolling along the Yampa River path.

Kim's previous background is in the hospitality industry. Kim graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management and a minor in Meeting and Travel Administration. Kim held management positions in downtown Denver at the Marriott City Center and The Warwick Hotel for six years of her career. She then moved to Steamboat Springs and was the Front Office Manager at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort and Conference Center for five and one half years.

The desire to learn something new, broaden her horizons, and expand her networking opportunities brought Kim to Steamboat Real Estate, Inc. in 1999. Kim has served on the Board of Directors for the Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors and Habitat for Humanity of Routt County. Kim is happy to assist her community and to enhance the wonderful town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
